Club Cherry

Here we are

Founded out of a Somerville, MA apartment, Club Cherry came to life in the Fall of 2021 when three roomates wanted more of their golf season. The whole year many weekend matches were played in foursomes against friends. The lack of coordination and organization was a reoccouring theme as tee times became difficult to come about. Additionally, each member had a surplus of golf buddies, containing a wide variety of skill level. Friends of friends branched out from scratch players, to players working on putting the ball in the hole. We felt it was impossible to schedule rounds with all of our friends, and this made us frustrated. It seemed nonsensical that golf was limited to 4 people, to whomever would lock in the tee time first. We figured there must be a way to get more friends involved, and there must be a way to have fair competition

In September 2021, the first unoffical Club Cherry Tournament took place. "The Weinstein Invitational" was a four man scramble and handicaps were calculated based off input from experienced members and online information. Based off the success of this unofficial tournament, we wanted to make more tournaments, with more people, and at better courses. Thus, Club Cherry was founded.

As recent college graduates, nobody had money for a private golf course, but everybody wanted the feel of one. Golf tends to be extremely divided, with having a country club community, or not. We figured this did not need to be so binary. We are excited to share Club Cherry with the world, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
